With the next Conference of the Parties (COP) on climate change approaching, the Young Ambassadors for the Environment (YAE) are stepping up their efforts. Driven by the conviction that the climate emergency requires strong action, they are announcing a three-pronged initiative: the publication of a powerful plea, the organisation of an evening debate in Bordeaux, and an active presence on site during the first few days to meet observers and influential figures. Our commitment reflects the desire of young people to move from words to action and to directly influence the decisions that will shape their future.
A plea for the future
At the heart of this campaign is a plea written by and for young people. Our analysis contributes to the desire to raise ambitions and translate our commitments into concrete policies. It articulates a clear vision for a fair and sustainable future, emphasising intergenerational justice, the protection of biodiversity and the need for a socially equitable transition. This plea will serve as a guiding principle for all JAE actions before and during the COP.
Join the debate in Bordeaux
To ensure that this appeal reflects a collective voice, the JAE invites you to a major evening of debate and discussion. This event, which is open to all, will be an opportunity to enrich the text, share ideas and build our common message together before taking it to the international stage.
When? Wednesday 5 November at 7pm.
Where? In Bordeaux (the exact location will be communicated to those who pre-register).
Why? To make your voice heard and contribute to a powerful collective message carried by young people.
An active presence on the ground
Beyond advocacy, a delegation of Young Ambassadors for the Environment will attend COP. Their mission: to convey this message directly to negotiators, participate in side events and follow the debates to ensure that the voices of young people and scientific imperatives are heard in the corridors of power. They will be the eyes and ears of an entire generation on the ground, ready to hold people accountable and propose solutions. By combining a strong message, local mobilisation and an international presence, the YAE hope not only to influence the outcome of the COP, but also to inspire other young people to get involved.
